The vehicle-embedded system also known as the electronic control unit (ECU) has transformed humble motorcar, making it more efficient, environmentally friendly, and safer, but led to a which is highly dependent on software. As new technologies features are included with each vehicle model, increased reliance software will no doubt continue. It an undeniable fact that all contains bugs, errors, potential vulnerabilities, when discovered must be addressed in timely manner, primarily through patching updates, preserve occupant safety integrity. However, current automotive updating practices ad hoc at best often follow same inefficient fix mechanisms associated physical component failure of return or recall. Increasing connectivity heralds for over air (OtA) rigid ECU hardware design does not facilitate enable OtA updating. To address issues regarding ECU-based approach how deployed required. This paper presents lightweight virtualisation containers can promote efficient updates. functional container built from image. Container images efficiency download size times layer sharing, similar difference delta flashing. Through containers, future updates completed without inconveniences consumer incurring expense manufacturer.
